While I was at Pender for the Family Day long weekend I had the chance to go to Bridges Road beach which is in my opinion is one of the best beaches in the Southern Gulf Islands which includes Pender, Mayne, Galiano, Saltspring and Saturna. Anyway my experiences at Bridges Road have been awesome! It’s a great place to view the ferries make their way through the ocean pass that separates Pender from Saltspring Island. It’s amazing when you get on to the beach with the ferries coming by and the waves crashing onto the beach. Bridges Road is also a haven for discovering creatures in the tidal pools and finding beach glass and shells. Sometimes when a gale whips up the waves crash with frequency and more velocity and we as in my family and I had to canter up the stairs like horses to avoid being swept away by the waves.
